Summary
Swenson Technology, Inc., an industry recognized leader in process equipment utilized in the chemical, pharmaceutical and waste reduction industries; is seeking a Mechanical / Project Engineer to work with our team of chemical engineers and CAD drafters in the design, procurement and delivery of evaporator and crystallizer systems.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Participate in development of equipment standards
- Understand and apply customer design specifications
- Assist with the coordination of project design
- Direct drafting personnel in developing General Arrangement and Equipment Outline drawings
- Audit fabrication shops for evaluation prior to use
- Review fabricator quotations for completeness and accuracy
- Review purchase orders prior to issuance
- Review fabricator drawings
- Generate and review ASME code calculations and stress analysis
- Report project status to company personnel to determine resource demand
- Assure scope, schedule and budget control is achieved on assigned tasks
- Inspect fabrication/construction sites as needed
- Observe field construction activities to measure and document contract requirements
- Participate in equipment commissioning as directed, to measure and document that system meets contract requirements and customer expectations

Requirements
- B.S. Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- 0-5 years related experience
- Experience with ASME code calculations (Compress)
- Strong knowledge of AutoCad (2D), Microsoft Office
- Understanding of project management fundamentals
- Good communicator, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work as a member of the Project team
- Some travel required (10 - 20%), including international
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must have or secure a passport
Preferences
- 5+ years experience in chemical process industry
- AutoCad 3D / Plant 3D experience
- CAESAR II pipe stress analysis experience
Pay Range: $75,000 - $95,000 per year based on experience, education, skills and qualifications.
