Swenson Technology, Inc., an industry recognized leader in the process equipment used in the chemical, pharmaceutical and waste reduction industries to convert liquid solutions into dry solids is seeking Process Engineer.

Performs engineering related design and analysis functions for chemical processing equipment systems engineered by Swenson Technology.  Works closely with various departments during the design, engineering, construction and start up of new or modified equipment to assure installations meet customers’ design requirements.

Under general oversight:

• Finalizes equipment process calculations and develops design drawings and procurement specifications.
• Assists with the coordination of the design for the project; directs drafting personnel in developing design drawings and procurement specifications.
• Assures scope, schedule and budget control is achieved on assigned projects.
• Assists in equipment procurement and design
• Reviews vendor quotations and issues procurement recommendations.
• Inspects fabrication/construction sites as needed.
• Observes field construction activities to measure and document contract requirements.
• Participates in equipment commissioning as directed, to measure and document that system meets contract requirements and customer expectations.

Reports to:  President

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Master’s degree a plus.
• 5+ years with experience of progressive engineering and analysis within the chemical process industry.
• Experience with process calculations such as pumping head, reviewing equipment drawings, reviewing P&ID’s, determining heat transfer coefficients and checking material and energy balances.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Project.
• Candidate must have strong organizational skills with the ability to work as a member of the Project team.
• Good communication skills are essential; will interact with various levels internally as well as with customer, suppliers and A&E’s.
• Some travel required, including international.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must have or secure a passport.
