Description

Job purpose

The Assembly Supervisor performs functions to give daily guidance to Paint, Electrical, and Mechanical Assembly departments and supports the company objectives. The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for wisely using company resources and eliminating waste in both material and time. Maintains a safe and organized working environment within the areas served.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manages Paint, Maintenance, Electrical and Mechanical Assembly personnel and departments.
  • Develops daily production requirements for all team members, monitors attainment and directs personnel to achieve or exceed allotted project hours.
  • Maintains a heavy visible shop floor presence.
  • Works closely with support departments to ensure production readiness is maintained.
  • Works closely with sales and design engineering to intervene proactively concerning any possible production issues that may impact cost and delivery.
  • Orders supplies for production departments, as necessary.
  • Reviews opportunities to improve safety and ergonomics, implements as needed.
  • Responsible for staffing and training departments supervised.
  • Maintains employee attendance records.
  • Develops and leads cost improvement processes in areas such as safety, training, floor space management, productivity improvement and others as needed.
  • Verify hours in Epicor are correct along with clocking in.
  • Verify payroll.
  • Daily overhead crane inspection, schedule and then log results in system for audit trail.
  • Facilitate weekly safety meetings.
  • Responsible for other related projects as directed by Plant Manager.
  • Supports overall company performance goals.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required, Bachelor’s degree in business administration or another operations related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervision in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in crane and/or heavy equipment manufacturing preferred.
  • Work primarily in a factory setting, PPE required. Frequent walking/standing.
  • Candidate must be a good communicator, both verbal and written; ability to conduct interpersonal speaking and writing across all functions of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office required; previous use of ERP systems preferred.

Working conditions
