Description
Whiting Corporation, a world leader in the manufacture of overhead cranes and transportation lifting equipment, is seeking an Technician 2/Documentation Control Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Records, Implements, and Plans Calibrations
- Evaluates, maintains, and performs minor repair of instruments
- Writes purchase order requests and distributes PO to shipping with instrument
- Writing NCR's for instruments found out of calibration
- Performs assigned 6S audits
- Performs assigned surveillance audits
- Plans and carries out Inspection Department gauge calibrations along with supporting department objectives (i.e. inspections, writing of NCR's audits)
- Notifies document owners for document reviews and assures the latest revision levels are available.
- Maintains document history (Quality Manual, procedures, work instruction, forms)
- Maintains the Whiting Quality (WQS) and Whiting Quality (WQR) system
- Maintains document and record indexes and ensures fast retrieval of information
- Maintains document index and assigns document numbers
- Responsible for overall coordination of controlled documentation within Whiting Corporation and WSI Monee Branch
- Promotes work place safety
- Promotes quality at the source
- Promotes and participates in continual improvement activities
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Understands concepts of a quality manual, procedures, work instructions, forms, standard operating procedures
Reports to: Director of Quality / Quality Assurance Manager
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalency required.
- Minimum 1-2 years related experience preferred.
- Experience in crane or heavy equipment manufacturing highly preferred.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
- Ability to communicate effectively within the organization on multiple levels.
- Basic PC knowledge (ability to operate a keyboard and basic navigation between screens within an application).
