Description
Job purpose
The HR coordinator performs functions to support the Human Resources department with the day-to-day operation of all human resources functions including benefits, compensation, recruiting, training and policy management.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provides general clerical support for the human resources department, including answering employee and external telephone calls, preparing correspondence and processing confidential reports.
- Coordinate and implement recruiting initiatives including , building applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, technical schools, employment agencies, external recruiters, media, and internet sites; posting job advertisements, attending job fairs and networking.
- Review and forward candidate resumes to hiring managers. Administer applicant tracking system.
- Coordinate candidate and hiring manager interview schedule.
- Create and send offer letters as directed by Human Resources.
- Conduct pre-employment procedures including drug screening and background checks.
- Coordinate start dates and conduct onboarding activities with new employee.
- Assists in maintaining files and filing systems, including electronic HRIS systems.
- Assists in maintaining Affirmative Action databases including applications/resumes, hiring and terminations, position and salary changes.
- Provides assistance in monitoring employee appraisal and training processes.
- Assists with employee welfare programs and events such as safety luncheons, holiday party, PPE reimbursement, perfect attendance program.
- Assists the legal department with any needs
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One to three years of Human Resources experience required
- One year of administrative experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with employees
- Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently
- Must be organized, accurate, thorough, able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality, and able to monitor work for quality
- Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities
Working conditions
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
