Parts Account Representative
Performs duties to interface with customers to clearly understand their needs and prepare quotes that meet those needs. Secure and process sales orders which clearly convey to the organization what is to be provided how and when.
Under general direction:
• Works with customers to understand their Requests for Proposal (RFQ’s) for Whiting OEM and other crane, transportation or similar equipment replacement parts.
• Identify if customer needs are in Whiting stock, made-to-order or source outside purchased material.
• Research Bills of Material (BOM’s), drawings, previous quotes and orders using Epicor system or hard copies to prepare a quotation.
• Prepare clear, concise and accurate quotations in response to customer requests.
• Process customer purchase orders into Whiting sales orders using company Epicor system.
• Communicate with customers, suppliers and Whiting departments via phone, email and fax.
• Direct requests involving engineering or service to appropriate Whiting or Whiting Services contacts.
• Process customer requests for returns.
• Responsible for periodic after-hours customer calls.
Reports to: Vice President – Parts Sales
Uses: Microsoft Office (incl. Excel, Word), Epicor, electronic documentation readers (Adobe Acrobat, eCopy).
Job Requirements:
• High School diploma required; associates degree preferred.
• 2-3 years customer service and/or order entry experience required.
• Ideal candidate must be able to work independently, multi-task, manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced ambitious environment.
• Candidate must be a good communicator, both verbal and written.
• Ability to read blue prints preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be organized and attentive to detail.
Performs other duties as assigned. Participates in Continuous Improvement and 6S.
Follows safety rules and keeps work area in clean and orderly condition.
