Whiting Corporation is well known as a superior quality manufacturer of custom, engineered to order cranes for over 100 years.
We are proud to be US owned and operated.
We are currently seeking a Painter for our 2nd shift.
Shifts may include:
3:30pm - 12:00am
5:00pm - 1:30am
+ OT as needed.
As an Industrial Painter, your responsibilities will include:
• Working from blueprints, work orders and instructions.
• Preparing metal surfaces to be free of dirt, grease, and debris for paint application. This may include cleaning, sanding/grinding, and chemical application.
• Applying water based primer and top coat to metal surfaces.
• Properly disposing of unused paint according to manufacturer and EPA requirements.
• Maintaining spray equipment (cleans and lubricates).
• Applying other types of paint as required.
• Using paint spray gun, performs sanding, scraping, grinding and other tools.
• Operating a fork truck and all overhead cranes.
• Entering work order information through terminals in the shop.
• Following safety guidelines for safe operation of all equipment.
• Participates in Continuous Improvement Projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
You are a great fit for our team if you have:
• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Minimum 1 - 2 years related experience required.
• Experience in crane or heavy equipment manufacturing preferred.
• Work in a factory setting; ability to stand 6-10 hours daily, ability to lift <50lbs frequently. Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
• Ability to communicate effectively within the organization on multiple levels.
• Basic PC knowledge (ability to operate a keyboard and basic navigation between screens within an application).
