Senior Manufacturing Project Manager

The project manager is the individual responsible for delivering the project within established parameters. The individual leads and manages the project team, with authority and responsibility from leadership, to run the project on a day-to-day basis from inception to customer acceptance.

The project manager, operating within agreed reporting structures, is responsible for:

  • Applying appropriate project management methods to ensure meeting established project parameters, leading the execution of the required deliverables
  • Planning and monitoring the project
  • Preparing and maintaining project, stage and exception plans as required
  • Motivating internal stake holders toward execution of project as defined. 
  • Managing project risks, including the development of contingency plans
  • Monitoring overall progress and use of resources, initiating corrective action where necessary
  • Applying change control processes as applicable
  • reporting through agreed lines on project progress through highlight reports and end-stage assessments
  • Liaison with project team members to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project
  • Maintaining an awareness of potential interdependencies with other projects and their impact
  • Applying appropriate technical and quality strategies and standards
  • identifying and obtaining support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project
  • Managing project administration
  • Conducting regular project evaluation reviews to assess how well the project was managed
  • Clearly communicating project needs and updates to both internal and external customers
  • Preparing any follow-on action recommendations

Reports to:  VP

Job Requirements:

  • Engineering or Technical Degrees are preferred, but applicants demonstrating equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • PMP Certificate preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of previous Project Management experience.
  • Personnel management skills preferred.
  • Electrical or mechanical aptitude is desired.
  • Strong communicator both verbal and written; will interface with customers and vendors on a routine basis.
  • Ability to understand technical specifications and contract documents (RFQ, PO, T&C’s) with experience identifying clarification and exception responses.
  • Experience preparing cost estimate and proposals a plus
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Project and Power Point)
  • 2D drafting and 3D design is a plus (AutoCAD and Soildworks)
  • Participates in Corporate Continuous Improvement efforts and 6S practices.
  • Follow safety rules and keeps work area in a clean & orderly condition.
