                                                  Overflow Machinist / CNC Work Centers
                                                          
 2nd Shift (5:00PM - 1:30 AM)

Performs functions to machine parts to specified tolerances according to supplied drawings.

Works from blueprints, work orders and instructions:
  • Operates three CNC machinery work centers (lathes) that have a regular overflow of work.
  • Train in setup, blueprint and machining information from several operators.
  • Write programs, makes setups, and performs necessary operations to manufacture parts to drawing specifications.
  • Uses measurement devices such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Read and interprets dimensional requirements for parts from engineered drawings.
  • Toubleshoot own work.
  • Operate a fork truck and all overhead cranes.
  • Perform operator maintenance on all equipment (TPM).
  • Follow safety guidleines dfor safe operation of all equipment.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Machining Supervisor

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years lathe experience required.
  • Experience with CNC programming from product start to finish preferred; conversational programming on a high level acceptable.
  • Knowledge of general shop practice.
  • Basic shop math skills required.
