Master Scheduler/Planner
The Master Scheduler/Planner is responsible for the production planning of all projects to include new equipment order, parts orders, and stock orders. This is a new position that will be responsible for the successful implementation of master scheduling within our ERP system (Epicor), developing necessary processes, and developing schedules that will drive production.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Identifies activities, associated interdependencies, durations, and resource requirements. (e.g. hours, material) to construct and maintain delivery dates. Provide “what if” analysis and potential courses of actions due to job changes or external influence showing impact to critical path.
- Works with Engineering, Production, and PM departments to develop scope, resource needs, material needs, and schedule for all jobs. Understanding of project timelines, schedule dependencies and critical paths.
- Works with Product Groups and Sales to determine best case ship dates for quoting.
- Must have the ability to determine the most efficient and economic production/capacity plan with lead time requirements and expected manufacturing needs.
- Review daily production and backlog information to control "overload" or "past due" situations.
- Works closely with Manufacturing Services to review resource loads, capacities, and job entry.
- Conducts scenario analysis, creates recovery plans, and implements new jobs to the schedule to establish scheduled ship dates and production start dates.
- Participates in daily production meeting, project meetings, and other meetings as required.
- Coordinate and expedite flow of activities and materials between various functional departments
- Develop and communicate key metrics and daily production reports to identity priority or critical material/resources required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Reports to: Director of Project Management, Procurement and Materials
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalency required and minimum 8 years experience in manufacturing planning/scheduling or;
- 4 year degree in related field preferred and minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing planning/scheduling
- Detail oriented ability to prioritize tasks, and produce quick turnaround.
- Must be self sufficient and able to launch implementation of this position.
- Experience with MRP and ERP systems. Epicor experience is a plus.
- Knowledgeable in the use of MS Office programs including MS Word and MS Excel.
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing shop environment.
