Whiting Corporation’s Nuclear Group (partnering with our sister company, Whiting Services, Inc.) provides new overhead cranes, crane control modernization, structural/rating upgrades of existing cranes, engineering analysis services and other services to the nuclear power and nuclear materials handling industries.
The Senior Project Manager – Nuclear performs functions of project management and supports the Nuclear Group in the modifications, refurbishments and new equipment sales of overhead cranes within the Nuclear Industry. This position is nationwide and there is no requirement to relocate to Monee, IL.

Under general direction:
- Project Management, from concept through design, delivery, installation and start-up of nuclear cranes serving the Nuclear Industry.
- Supports the Nuclear Group efforts (customer contacts, prepare internal process documents, coordinate proposal efforts, PO reviews, Terms & Conditions negotiations and guide Crane Product Group deliverables to the Nuclear Group and customers.
- Manage contract scope, ensuring customer needs and schedules are being met while ensuring Whiting Corporation is fairly compensated.
- Cross-checks outputs from other departments to ensure contract compliance.
- Assists in development of Nuclear Group policies and procedures, training programs and new niche market opportunities.
- Managing of special projects, as assigned.
- Authorize customer invoicing as project milestones are contractually met.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneousl.
- Supports overall company objectives and performance goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent Technical degree is required.
- 10 years project engineering or project management experience required.
- Ability to obtain security clearance to enter a Nuclear Facility is required.
- Electrical and/or mechanical aptitude is desired.
- Strong communicator both verbal and written; will interface with customers and vendors on a routine basis.
- Ability to understand technical specifications and contract documents (RFQ,PO,T&C's) with experience identifying clarification and exception responses.
- Experience preparing cost estimate and proposals a plus.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Project and Power Point).
- 2D drafting and 3D design is a plus (AutoCAD and Solidworks).
