Description
Whiting Corporation’s Nuclear Division (partnering with our sister company, Whiting Services, Inc.) provides new overhead cranes, crane control modernization, structural/rating upgrades of existing cranes, engineering analysis services and other services to the nuclear power and nuclear materials handling industries.
The Project Manager – Nuclear performs functions to manage projects and support the Nuclear Division sales efforts for modifications, refurbishments and new equipment sales of overhead cranes within the nuclear industry.
Under general direction:
• Project Management, from concept through delivery, installation and start-up of nuclear cranes (incl. modifications and new equipment).
• Supports the Nuclear Division sales efforts (customer contacts, prepares internal process documents, coordinates proposal efforts, PO reviews, Terms & Conditions negotiations and guides Crane Product Group deliverables to the Nuclear Division customers).
• Manages contract scope, ensuring customer needs are being met while ensuring Whiting Corporation is fairly compensated.
• Cross-checks outputs from other departments to ensure contract compliance.
• Assists in development of nuclear decision policies and procedures, training programs and new niche market opportunities.
• Managing of special projects, as assigned.
• Authorizes customer invoicing as project milestones are contractually met.
• Supports overall company objectives and performance goals.
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science (EE, ME) or equivalent experience required; PE certification a plus.
• Ideal candidate will have previous work experience in the nuclear industry.
• Minimum 5 years experience in project management required.
• Electrical and mechanical aptitude required.
• Ability to understand technical specifications and contract documents (RFQ,PO, T&C's) and identify appropriate clarifications and exceptions.
• Experience preparing costing proposals.
• CAD drafting and 3D design a plus (AutoCAD and Solidworks).
• Ideal candidate must be a good communicator, both verbal and written; will interface with both customers and vendors on a routine basis.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (incl. Excel, Word, Project and Power Point).
• Ability to obtain Nuclear Security clearance a plus.
