Whiting Corporation’s Nuclear Group (partnering with our sister company, Whiting Services, Inc.) provides new overhead cranes, crane control modernization, structural/rating upgrades of existing cranes, engineering analysis services and other services to the nuclear power and nuclear materials handling industries.

The Senior Project Manager – Nuclear performs functions of project management and supports the Nuclear Group in the modifications, refurbishments and new equipment sales of overhead cranes within the Nuclear Industry.
 
Under general direction:
  • Project Management, from concept through design, delivery, installation and start-up of nuclear cranes serving the Nuclear Industry.
  • Supports the Nuclear Group efforts (customer contacts, prepare internal process documents, coordinate proposal efforts, PO reviews, Terms & Conditions negotiations and guide Crane Product Group deliverables to the Nuclear Group and customers.
  •  Manage contract scope, ensuring customer needs and schedules are being met while ensuring Whiting Corporation is fairly compensated.
  • Cross-checks outputs from other departments to ensure contract compliance.
  • Assists in development of Nuclear Group policies and procedures, training programs and new niche market opportunities.
  • Managing of special projects, as assigned.
  • Authorize customer invoicing as project milestones are contractually met.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneousl.
  • Supports overall company objectives and performance goals.
 
 Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent Technical degree is required.
  • 10 years project engineering or project management experience required.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance to enter a Nuclear Facility is required.
  • Electrical and/or mechanical aptitude is desired.
  • Strong communicator both verbal and written; will interface with customers and vendors on a routine basis.
  • Ability to understand technical specifications and contract documents (RFQ,PO,T&C's) with experience identifying clarification and exception responses.
  • Experience preparing cost estimate and proposals a plus.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Project and Power Point).
  • 2D drafting and 3D design is a plus (AutoCAD and Solidworks).
