Description
Whiting Corporation, a world leader in the manufacture of overhead cranes and transportation lifting equipment, is seeking a Risk and Contract Manager.
The Risk and Contract Manager will be a strategic advisor to commercial and industrial business units on a diverse range of issues including commercial contracts and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently, have practical and business perspectives and the ability to build trust and credibility.

The Risk and Contract Manager will be a strategic advisor to commercial and industrial business units on a diverse range of issues including commercial contracts and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently, have practical and business perspectives and the ability to build trust and credibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Negotiates, drafts and reviews contracts relating to a wide array of product lines, including but not limited to sale of company goods, purchase contracts, distributorship contracts and strategic alliances.
- Oversee company's insurance programs including product liability, worker's compensation, property insurance and other insurances. Responsibilities, include, but are not limited to, the selection of insurance carriers and claims management.
- Responsible for the strategic development of the company's risk management program.
- Manages all compliance matters, as needed, including, but not limited to: interfacing with and responding to requests from local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, including but not limited to OSHA and EPA. Tracks, files and updates all regulatory rules and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Ensures ongoing compliance, internal control practices, risk reduction, high ethical standards and corporate governance.
- Evaluates and recommends performance and organizational solutions to improve overall operations as appropriate.
- Selects and manages outside counsel and/or consultants, as needed.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Five (5) or more years of relevant experience in both contract negotiation and risk management
- Bachelors degree required; Law degree is a plus;
- Must have extensive proficiency in all aspects of risk management and insurance.
