Parts Representative

Position Summary
The Parts Account Representative meets the needs of the client while performing a variety of customer service duties related to the quoting and selling of parts and accessories that contribute to the efficient, safe, and profitable operation of the Parts Department and Organization.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Research and quote legacy product based on customer’s request using a wide variety of mediums, both electronic, paper, and microfilm.
• Determine replacement parts required, according to research build records, inspections, customer requests, or customers' descriptions of requirements.
• Process orders for parts using the ERP system.
• Assist customers, such as responding to customer complaints and updating them about back-ordered parts.
• Manage shipments by researching shipping methods or costs and tracking packages as required.
• Issue RMA’s for returned parts for defects, exchange defective parts, rebuild or refund money.
• Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
• Review orders in the shop to verify on-time delivery.
• Provide customers with tracking information.
• Work with outside sales to relay information on opportunities for the organization.
• Use pricing guidelines set by the company.

Skills and Preferences 

• HS Diploma or equivalent, some college or post-HS studies preferred.2-3 years’ experience in Customer Service, crane or heavy equipment manufacturing industry preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, manufacturing drawings.
• Must possess basic computer knowledge that includes the ability to operate a keyboard and navigate between screens within a computer application.

Working conditions

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as workload requires.
