Description

Summary

Swenson Technology, Inc., an industry recognized leader in process equipment used in the chemical, pharmaceutical and waste reduction industries; is seeking a Mechanical / Project Engineer to work with our team of chemical engineers and CAD drafters in the design, procurement and delivery of evaporator and crystallizer systems.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply customer design specifications
  • Review fabricator quotations for completeness and accuracy
  • Audit fabrication shops for evaluation prior to use
  • Assist with the coordination of project design
  • Direct drafting personnel in developing General Arrangement and Equipment Outline drawings
  • Review purchase orders prior to issuance
  • Generate and review ASME code calculations and stress analysis
  • Review fabricator drawings
  • Participate in development of equipment standards
  • Report project status to company personnel to determine resource demand
  • Assure scope, schedule and budget control is achieved on assigned tasks
  • Inspect fabrication/construction sites as needed
  • Observe field construction activities to measure and document contract requirements
  • Participate in equipment commissioning as directed, to measure and document that system meets contract requirements and customer expectations

Requirements

  • B.S. Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • 0-5 years related experience
  • Experience with ASME code calculations
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCad (2D), Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of project management fundamentals
  • Good communicator, both verbal and written
  •  Strong organizational skills with the ability to work as a member of the Project team
  • Some travel required (10 - 20%), including international
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have or secure a passport

 

Preferences

  • 5+ years experience in chemical process industry
  • 3D AutoCad experience
  • CAESAR II pipe stress experience
  • Spanish proficiency
